Drip, Drip, Drip

My bathroom is right next to my bedroom, naturally, and my bed is situated right next to the bathroom door. Four days ago, my faucet started dripping. You know the kind, I’m sure.  I try with all my might to turn the knobs tighter and tighter, so tight that it actually stops for a moment and a feeling overcomes me that I have conquered something bigger than myself, a triumphant melody plays in my head, somehow, through this feat of stopping this flow of water, I am a champion. But, of course, this feeling doesn’t last. The sound, non existent during the day, always seems to creep back into my life when I am trying to fall asleep. The door closed doesn’t deter the piercing drip, drip, drip. It just gets

and louder….

and louder…

I have to play mind games with myself to not think about it and fall asleep. It’s becoming a hassle. Thank god I am leaving tomorrow,  I don’t suppose I could handle another night of this taunting. Maybe, if I wasn’t so zoinked out on crazy lately, it wouldn’t even affect me. Maybe, if I wasn’t so zoinked out on crazy I wouldn’t think zoinked was a word. Maybe if I wasn’t so zoinked out on crazy, I…

I know, right?

Anyway, here’s to California and my wonderful friend who surprised me with tickets because she could. Please, _______, don’t let me die in an airplane crash. I need this. I need this. A little good can go a loooong way. Hopefully, when I get back I will be so fulfilled/inspired/motivated that I won’t even be bothered with a drip problem.
