Well, this has most definitely proven to be the best Thanksgiving I’ve spent with my family in my “adult” life. I made everything but the turkey (boooo turkey) and nothing was overcooked or “not quite right,” in fact, it was all pretty spectacular. I even made my first pie and it was GOOD! I know, right? Look at me, look at ME. After stuffing our faces and napping through a Barbie movie, my sister, niece, mother and I went to see “A Christmas Carol.” If you ever, for whatever reason, end up watching this movie please let me know so we can discuss how WEIRD the Christmas past ghost was. I couldn’t handle it. My sister gave me a raised eyebrow/grin several times throughout his part.
Now, the fam is gone and I have nothing to do. I halfheartedly attempted to round up some folks to go see Fantastic Mr. Fox with me post-family hang, but noooo, everyone is familying still! I haven’t been this excited to see a movie in a long time. Wes Anderson’s take on a Roald Dahl book? Yes please. Mr. Fox’s whistle click click thing is something I am going to try very hard to not reference and abuse to the point of annoyance. I am bad with those kinds of things.
Ugh, maybe I WILL go by myself. I just got so excited about it!
We’ll see what happens when 10:10 DOES roll around. I’ve got a thermos of hot apple cider/cap’n morgan to sneak in. Things may get W I L D.

Oh me? I had a fantastical weekend. One of my BFFs and I took a small roadtrip to Atlanta ** to see Matthew Sweet/ Susanna Hoffs perform at Eddie’s Attic. It was great. We did merch for them, drank vodka tonics/amaretto sours, ate (FREAKING delicious) tacos/mac n cheese and got real silly. We stayed two nights at the W hotel which is just… ridiculously good. The rooms were accented with purple walls, it smelled like heaven and we got free movies. I kept feeling like we won some kind of radio show prize, where the station flies you out to a fun city to meet the band and they throw down for your meals and bombass hotel rooms. There were times when we were waiting for our elevator that we literally just started dancing in the hallway and giggling like pre-teens. God, don’t I sound like such a spoiled little brat right now? I’m sorry. It’s just that I am wide awake at 10:26PM on a Sunday and the Taylor Swift video didn’t post, my HULU isn’t working and well, what did you WANT ME TO WRITE ABOUT?! THE WEATHER?! Would it make you feel better if I told you we went to four different gas stations looking for Corn Nuts and I came out of each one empty-handed and dragging my feet? What is up with that Georgia? Seriously? What do you have against Corn Nuts? They are the perfect ROAD SNACK, GEORGIA. Get hip to the nuts, GA.
In other news, I am JUST now getting caught up with all the work I missed while I was in Korea for two weeks. I’m pretty sure all my professors hate me, or at least, heave a heavy sigh when they open their MTSU mail and see all those pesky messages from yours truly. You know how sometimes you just have to be annoying for things to work out? I am embracing it. I am being annoying to everyone lately. I even have a category on my wordpress for annoying. I’ll remember to check it before I submit.
I’m still thinking about Corn Nuts. I wonder how cold it is outside right now…

P.S. Oh! Here’s a picture of me holding a real baby this weekend. I may or may not be drunk off several glasses of red, but I didn’t drop her or hit her head or make her cry! I think she even liked me for a second or two, maybe I should be a nanny to make those dollars:
I am procrastinating studying for my spanish test. I don’t know where these images are from. I have this folder on my desktop labled*, “maybe” that I just shove tons and tons of images from google/blogs/allovertheinternets because I can’t cope with leaving them somewhere that I can’t find later. It’s getting to be quite a large folder, so now I am just going to unload new images onto this, see. It makes sense. Man, why is blogging so appetizing when you have a lot of shit to do? For real. Let’s see… what ‘s new with me.? Oh! I bought my first tube of lipstick yesterday! Revlon’s Matte ‘Really Red’. I know, right? Holla atcha girl… or should I saw WOMAN. I don’t know what occasion will be appropriate to debut this shout out LOUD of a lipstick, but I hope it comes soon because red lipstick makes me feel funky! And pretty! And fun! And badass!
Okay, all I have going for me right now is lipstick. Fine. FINE.

I really want to see New York, I Love You. I assumed it would be playing at Belcourt because they usually follow through with the good movies that aren’t playing the mainstream theatres, but NOOOOOOO. The closest theatre to me playing it is in Georgia. I am almost up for the trip. Not that I think the movie would be worth the drive, but that the drive would be worth the movie. I’ve always been a fan of extended car rides. Nothing beats a long ride to a mapped out destination with a couple new albums to listen to, a pack of parliament lights and a go-to on my side. Though, I’m not sure I have enough time to wrangle in a go-to. Everyone is busy, busy these days. Let’s face it, I’m just as lonely as I ever was.
And since I just can’t sleep anymore since my trip to Korea, I’m thinking… why the hell not just go for a drive. Okay, that’s all it took to talk myself into it. I guess it is too late to leave tonight. I will go tomorrow. I will stop at little places on the way. I will buy Picante Lime Corn Nuts (my favorite road snack). I will make three mix CDs. I will put off my spanish homework.
It IS fall break, after all and that, that ain’t bad.
